Small Angel Wings to make sound took to the Salvation Army

I don't usually bold enough to voluntarily go to Walmart during the holiday season, but I find myself there again for three hours a few weeks ago. Fortunately, I spent all that time on the sidewalk instead of waiting in the checkout line.

Through my membership in a Lions Club local midday, I once again braved the elements (in fact, I think I have a day most climate seasons) to ring the Bell for the shift as The Salvation Army annual Red Kettle campaign. This year, though, I discovered a series of instructions on the back of the sign offers great advice:

First, I learned that I don't need to ring the Bell hard I could during the shift. Instead it recommends constant gentle tones, it reminds me that people who want to let you will find me.

Second, he suggested I play a musical instrument or singing. Because I have no musical instruments, and singing I am more likely to drive people away, I decided to whistling carols while I work. Snow White would have been proud. I don't know that I try to bring more attention or contribution, but time would fly.

Lastly, a sign advised me to let young kids who took a turn in the ring a Bell. I'm not sure what is the response I would Get such a request, but You'd think I was just notified tikes I've seen their names on the list of "Nice". They are happy to help, was inspired to reach the parking lot to the sound of excited them, and as a bonus, I even had to rest my arm for a while.

Army Corps of Engineers is ready to go with the flow

Army Corps of Engineers has decided to increase the flow of the River Ouachita so that industries such as graphic packaging in West Monroe and West Monroe city like municipalities can release more of their wastewater treated to a river and avoid production curtailments.

Colonel Jeffrey Eckstein, Commander of the Corps of Vicksburg (Miss.) District, said the Agency will improve the flow by lowering the pool at Felsenthal lock and dam from 65 feet to 65 feet. That will increase the flow of about 350 cubic feet per second for a total of 550 cubic feet per second.

industries and towns along the River rely on releasing millions of gallons of treated wastewater into the River every day, but the current flow is not sufficient to meet the needs of the dilution of the regulators of the environment.

"we will try to make the best use of the water we have available," said Eckstein.

Lowering Felsenthal pool, supported by the Entergy's release of water from the Lake Catherine and Lake Hamilton in Arkansas near hot springs, can provide a flow of 550-cubic-feet-per-seconds until December.
